Barcelona from the Columbus Column |
I made this by walking around the top of the Columbus column near the waterfront in Barcelona.
The column looks like this:

There is (unbelievable but true!) a lift inside (you pay a few euros, but it's worth it), which leaves from down under the base of the column.
At the top there is a narrow walkway that goes all around the crown:

It is between the half-globe on which Columbus stands and the crown below it. The walkway has glass windows:

When walking around up there, it is just possible for two normal sized people to squeeze past each other. That made it possible for me to take the time to make the photos.
