Dictionary

These frequent errors irritate me each time I see them:

Affect and Effect

To affect means to influence.
Effect is a noun, not a verb.
There are global issues that affect everyone, the placebo effect is not one of them.

Asterisk and Asterix and ampersand.

The character "*" is an asterisk, not an asteriks.  Asterix is a cartoon character.

The character "&" is an ampersand.  One does not have to make a face and suddenly become flustered at the keyboard when asked to type an ampersand.

Comma

The comma belongs to grammar?  Or to punctuation?  Read what the Panda thinks.

Computer Science

French Fries

Well, whatever the British think about who invented Fast Food, "French fries" probably came from Belgium and fish-and-chips was invented later.

It's and its again

But that is grammar.

Separation

Separation, not seperation.  Separate.
