Conventional gear reduction and differential gear: the motor drives a crown (8:24 reduction), this goes to an 8:40 reduction on the right side of the chassis:

There is a lot of "platework" to get the gears to mesh well and still put them in a compact whole.

After the 40-gear there is a further reduction on the left side:

again an unusual spacing to get an 8:16 meshing, and that drives the differential over a final 8:24 reduction:
