The feeler lifting mechanism |
This is the most difficult because the half-width beams are not long enough for the purpose: longer ones must be built by combining shorter ones. To connect half-width beams, one can use pegs, but these will protude on one end since the shortest peg is single width on one side and half on the other.
There is one case of connecting to a crossblock which makes the half-beam loose unless a dummy halfbeam is used.

The black arm at 90° to the cam provides a stop for the cam when it returns to its neutral position by hitting the motor and it hits a black peg in the far 1x6 yellow beam when the cam is moved down to lift the feelers.
