Starting from a digital image that was taken by a camera or scanned in, what should we do to print it, put it on the web, see it on a screen?
First we need to understand the characteristics of an image and how to judge visible quality.
Then we need to know what to do for each case:
The images used here can be downloaded if you want to work on them: 1.3MB (2569x1920 straight from the camera, best quality); 455kB (800x600 high quality); 82kB (800x600 medium quality) and 44kB (800x600 low quality). Since they were taken by me, they are royalty free.
