Note:  even Windows Internet Explorer 7 for Windows Vista does not respect the W3C standards for cascading style sheets and it does not even render a file marked as xhtml such as this one.  If you have trouble with my site, it may be your browser.  Download Firefox or Safari if you are a Windows user.

Here is what you should see:

This page has three parts:  a header, contents and a footer.  It should look like this:

There are more potential problems.

In the table below, the left hand column shows what you should see in the right hand column.

PNG image transparency the cell background colour should show through the circle and rectangle. The cell background is a light beige.
nested <div>s the darker rectangle should sit within the lighter one and on top of its text. (the text may be larger or smaller depending on your browser's font preference settings)
	nested division first division second paragraph third paragraph
SVG drawings the drawing should be sharper than the image on the left; its background should be the same as that of the cell; you should be able to drag the drawing around; you should be able to zoom in/zoom out by dragging right or left while holding down the option key (alt-key); you should be able to return to the original view by shift-clicking the drawing.  The quality of the drawing should remain high at all times. The cell background is a light blue.

QuickTime movies (this is NOT part of the standard) On the right hand side the movie should show and play in a loop. I use QuickTime reluctantly, and only because there is no open, well-defined simple standard for movies in the same way there is jpeg for photographic images.

Get Safari, or Firefox, Opera; get QuickTime.
